To get your feel-good hormones up and running for the summer, take a breather and visit one of the many professional spas in Los Cabos. Most spas offer treatments inspired by nature and incorporate items ranging from milk and honey to the fruits of summer.

Get the summer juices flowing with a body wrap: There are versions here using bamboo and green tea or lotus blossoms. Or get an exfoliation scrub of cocoa and vanilla. If you’ve heard of, but never participated in, a temezcal, this is your chance to see what this pre-Hispanic steam bath is all about. 10 tips to help you avoid burns, dehydrated hair, and more


Spa_0023_1Temperatures are rising, but that doesn’t mean your skin has to suffer. Nor does it mean you have to live in a spa or eliminate the beach. Here are 10 easy tips to follow to stay and look cool:

Stay moisturized: Moisturizer is important. Aloe vera is an organic moisturizer. It’s not only the secret to easing sunburns but it will reduce puffiness.
Wear a hat: There’s something very alluring about a floppy sun hat, and it’s a great way to protect your face from the sun’s rays.
Stay covered: Wear lighter colored clothing of natural fabrics that breathe (think: cotton, linen and silk).
Banish bad hair: The sun can also do a number on your, so keep it conditioned with coconut oil.
Skip heavy makeup: Less is more, especially when time outside could result in it melting off. Face a window and use natural sunlight to apply makeup.
Maintain that dewy glow: Mix a pea-sized amount of moisturizer with an equal amount of liquid foundation. Dab a cream blush on cheeks and moisturizing balm on lips.
Go waterproof: Use longwearing waterproof liquid eyeliner. Finish with a light coat of waterproof mascara.
Say no to tanning: You’ll be thankful in years to come.
Shield your skin: Wear a base lotion containing sunscreen; touch up during the day.
Drink lots of water: Infuse with lemon or fruit. Eat watermelon and juicy fruits.
