It formed in 1991 when a new resident asked her real estate agent to bring a few friends to her home to become acquainted; such a good time was had that they asked those attending to regroup in two weeks and each bring a friend. Webster’s Dictionary describes the word tomato as slang meaning “an attractive lady.” Today, there are more than 600 members who claim that name. The group meets twice monthly, either in a member’s home or at a commercial establishment. For information, email loscabostomatoes@gmail.com.
