If you’re looking for a casual place to go for sushi, check out the back room of this Cabo San Lucas Marina eatery. It was named for those who were either born in the area or who have lived here long enough to be considered practically native. Hector Chong is the sushi chef, and he whips up any number of items such as the popular Sashimi Currican or the spicy Sashimi Serranito. Four pieces of nigiris will set you back only $4 U.S., and you get a mix of tuna, salmon, shrimp, and octopus. The $10 U.S. variety of sushi rolls are enough to share, as is the teppanyaki with mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, squash, and an option of beef, chicken, shrimp, or a mixture of choices. Fried rice makes a nice accompaniment with a choice of chicken, shrimp, beef, or mixed. You know the fish is fresh since the restaurant owner’s Sindicate Sportfishing fleet brings in the catch daily. Don’t stop until you try the tempura ice cream or the banana tempura with chocolate or strawberries and a dollop of ice cream. Of course, the restaurant offers a variety of main dishes, including Mexican fare along with fresh seafood. For party lovers, the beverages will have you reeling: margaritas with fresh pineapple and cilantro or order the Kamikaze Special of five shots for $10 U.S. Several TVs within the restaurant proper will keep you glued to your favorite televised sporting event.
