UltraJewels Reopens—with a Twist

The landmark Los Cabos jewelry store celebrated its grand reopening following a renovation and change in concept. The extremely popular company has eight jewelry centers throughout México, and the Cabo San Lucas Marina location is its flagship store. The March 16 red-carpet celebration featured a yacht theme, with assistants dressed in nautical attire and encouraging guests to navigate the treasures beyond the store’s automatic glass doors. Guests enjoyed refreshments from Deni’s Catering as they perused the collection of jewelry and timepieces by such design houses as Cartier, Choppard, TAG Heuer, Bulgari, and Messika.

La Biblioteca de Tequila Debuts New Concept

México City-born chef Richard Sandoval announced earlier this year that he would be transforming his popular La Biblioteca de Tequila restaurant into a “Mexican Gastro Cantina.” Tequila remains the star, and the restaurant—which is located within the Breathless Los Cabos resort—features more than 250 labels of tequila, mezcal, and delicious specialty drinks at its mixology bar. There’s also a tremendous selection of Mexican dishes (some traditional, some with innovative twists). Favorites include but are in no means limited to crispy bacon guacamole, enchiladas, smoked brisket tacos, and a must-have tres leches dessert.

Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hosts 5th Annual Wine & Cheese Festival

More than 600 people attended the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos’ fifth annual wine and cheese festival, which this year benefited the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation. The March 25 festival featured 96 Mexican, Argentine, American, and Chilean wine labels (from a dozen wine suppliers), as well as 103 types of cheese from across the world. The annual fundraiser, under the direction of Renato Mendonca, donates all of its proceeds.

MacStore Opens in Puerto Paraíso

Known as the most important distributor of the Apple brand, MacStore marked the opening of a Los Cabos location on May 18. The store, which is located within the Puerto Paraíso shopping center in downtown Cabo San Lucas, features the full complement of Apple products: computers, phones, tablets, watches, and more. This is a great place to stock up on gifts or to learn about the latest in technology. The Los Cabos MacStore also provides tech support—a wonderful resource for visitors dealing with tech issues. On hand for the occasion were several MacStore corporate representatives.
