El Coral – LCM 43 Spring 2016

EL Coral_23Ene2016_HR_04This spot’s new light-gold-and-tan-colored exterior and overall makeover have been a welcome treat to the busy corner of the Marina Boulevard and Miguel Hidalgo, directly across the street from Tesoro Los Cabos. El Coral’s menu is a simple sampling of traditional Mexican dishes that include chile relleno, shrimp or chicken enchiladas, chicken or beef fajitas, and, of course, burritos and quesadillas. All items reasonably priced in the $7 U.S.–$14 U.S. ranging. El Coral also offers tortilla, seafood, and chicken soups at $5 U.S. a bowl. One of the more surprising menu options is El Coral’s $12 U.S. stuffed avocado with shrimp salad (or with lobster for $18 U.S.). The El Coral selection of appetizers ($7 U.S.) consists of guacamole, shrimp cocktail, fish ceviche, and shrimp ceviche. For seafood-loving patrons, El Coral menu dishes include the catch of the day, scallops, calamari, jumbo shrimp, red snapper, lobster tails, and a tasty bacon-wrapped shrimp with cheese dripping on top. El Coral also offers the lowest price in Los Cabos ($5 U.S.) to cook any caught fish brought into their patio-style establishment, where they will fire it up in any one of three different ways: grilled, fried, or blackened. Served with rice, beans, mixed vegetables, potato, bread and tortillas. The Bartender’s Margarita, made with Hornitos tequila, Couintreau, and cranberry juice is a must try. Boulevard Marina and Miguel Hidalgo, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-0150. Daily 8 a.m.–11 p.m. MasterCard, Visa, and vouchers accepted. $–$$$ F.R.
