Pan di Bacco

While Pan di Bacco is known by late-night revelers for its extraordinary pizzas, fine wines, and special cocktails, few know of its bountiful breakfast-brunch menu. Start the day with an Italian-style breakfast at either of the two Los Cabos locations. A large bowl of seasonal fruit is a nice starter served with dipping honey. My favorite egg dish is an omelet roll filled with salmon, cream cheese, and arugula. The green omelet is made with spinach, cream cheese, ham, and leafy and colorful arugula. A tasting menu is also available. A basket of fresh, warm, house-baked toast is always included, served with butter and jam (perhaps made of hibiscus flowers). Panini can be had with various filings such as salmon or prosciutto and cheese and then grilled flat. Of course, the name says it all: Pan di Bacco means bread of the gods in Italian. Here you can have a croissant filled with chocolate; a fagotto (a crispy pastry with Nutella); or a banana, chocolate, or carrot and zucchini sweet bread, the perfect accompaniment with an Italian espresso. Waffles with cream cheese and caramel sound sinful (perhaps I’ll get it next time). Start with a mimosa (two for the price of one) or a smoothie of orange with honey, mango. The Green & Green is made with spinach, pears, parsley, and orange. Cabo San Lucas: Marina Boulevard and Lázaro Cárdenas, (624) 143-3508, www.pandibacco.com.
