Cabo Wabo – LCM 49 Spring 2018

Cabo Wabo

Pop into Cabo Wabo for lunch or dinner to feast on its signature lobster burrito.

Welcome to the spot that started it all. Back when rocker Sammy Hagar opened his now-iconic nightclub in downtown Cabo San Lucas, this was a destination known mostly for its fishing scene, and he was best known as the lead singer of Van Halen. Now the Red Rocker is a household name and forever tied to the Cabo Wabo empire he started…and the world-class destination he helped put on the map. The nightclub continues to be a must-visit spot, but we’ll admit to being partial to its restaurant. Open daily for lunch and dinner, it’s like a culinary treasure hidden in plain sight. You’ll find something delightful on every section of the concise menu. Start with the pan-seared scallops served with Cabo Wabo tequila butter. The chile-and-cream-cheese-stuffed mushrooms are another favorite starter. For the main course, opt for the famous lobster tacos or the Waburrito, a huge burrito stuffed with chicken, tomatoes, and cheese. The lobster burrito is sautéed lobster, onion, tomato, and garlic are deglazed white wine and finished with heavy cream. Other standout main course options include jumbo shrimp in a cilantro-honey glaze and the pan-seared beef tenderloin. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the banana bread pudding.
