Pastafrolla

The motto of this astounding casual Mediterranean restaurant Pastafrolla is “for the pleasure of being together,” and it’s one that holds true for couples, families, and anyone dining here. Located in downtown Cabo San Lucas—right across from the Puerto Paraiso shopping center—Pastafrolla is a passion project for chefs José Rubén Beltrán and César Jesús Ruíz, who have been with the venture from the very start. (They even assembled the tables and chairs!) The cuisine is built on a foundation known as “triada”: wine, olive, and wheat. The chefs take the most representative dishes from select Mediterranean countries (Italy, Greece, and Turkey among them) and bring them to Los Cabos, applying their own culinary style along the way. Steaks, seafood, pasta, and pizza are among the offerings. The signature dessert is the eponymous Pastafrolla, which is a delicious artisanal pie. The chefs make the dough from scratch, then they shape this culinary art piece with tenderness; the main ingredient is the quince.
