Most vacations don’t last long enough to allow travelers to discover all that Cabo San Lucas has to offer: So many beaches, restaurants, shops, adventure parks, and spas compete for your attention. But certain spots have earned their place as required visiting. Just as you can’t make a first-time trip to New York without taking in the Empire State Building or Statue of Liberty, neither can you journey to Cabo San Lucas without making an appearance at Cabo Wabo Cantina, Sammy Hagar’s legendary restaurant and nightclub. Party the night away or opt for a family dinner at the restaurant, which has a menu that competes with any in Los Cabos. The hearty lobster burrito deserves its own cult following. Sammy’s Tequila Shrimp are sautéed in garlic and serrano chile, then deglazed with lime juice and Cabo Wabo Tequila. And the excellent sea scallops are pan-seared, then served with red cabbage slaw and Tequila Cabo Wabo Reposado butter. And, of course, you can’t leave without sampling the eponymous tequila line.
