La Casa Country – Los Cabos Magazine #36

Escape to the handsome La Casa Country restaurant on the Cabo San Lucas Marina for an air-conditioned reprieve from the potent Los Cabos sunshine—and an excellent meal. This steak house, an institution both here and in Mazatlán, is divided into three parts, an alfresco dining area, an outdoor bar, and an inside air-conditioned dining room that provides excellent views of the marina and can completely open up. La Casa Country is home to quite possibly the city’s best steak, a 12-ounce “Argentinean” L-shaped heart of fillet (roughly $23 U.S.). The appetizer menu has its own stars, too, including chips and guacamole (roughly $7.70 U.S.), the latter prepared to order table side, and mushrooms (roughly $7.70 U.S.) in ajillo sauce, a garlicky concoction that’s sinfully delicious. Cabo San Lucas Marina (next to Puerto Paraiso shopping center), Cabo San Lucas, (624) 105-1999, www.lacasacountry.com. Restaurant: Daily 9 a.m.–11 p.m. Bar: Sun.–Wed. 9 a.m.–midnight, Thurs.–Sat. 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Major credit cards and vouchers accepted. $–$$ A.A.
