La Dolce Ristorante Italiano – LCM 44 Summer 2016

Exploring Los Cabos’ burgeoning restaurant scene can sometimes feel like a culinary adventure around the world. It’s as though EPCOT opened a Southern Baja satellite. And entering through La Dolce’s doors is like hopping a train to tour Northern Italy, with family after family inviting you into their homes to taste their homemade dishes. There’s pizza and pasta, sweets and espressos, steaks, and antipasti. Starters include various takes on bruschetta, but I’m especially impressed with the one with smoked salmon on garlic bread. There is also a must-try Caprese salad. Follow it with house-made pastas like lasagna or ravioli, which will transport you directly to Italy. Pizza selections include the usual faves and some surprises; try one with chicken and pine nuts. Miguel Hidalgo and Zapata S/N, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-4122, www.restauranteladolce.com. Nightly 5 p.m.–midnight. Also in San José del Cabo: Miguel Hidalgo and Zaragosa, (624) 142-6621. Tues.–Sun. 1 p.m.–11 p.m. MasterCard and Visa accepted.
