Sunset Point

Pizza, tapas, wine, and epic views are what you can expect at Sunset Point, the sister restaurant to Los Cabos’ iconic Sunset Mona Lisa and the newer oyster and Champagne bar Taittinger Terrace. Here you can enjoy all the same mesmerizing views of the Sea of Cortés and the nightly Technicolor sunsets, as well as a more relaxed—while still sophisticated—ambience. For a casual date night or evening out with friends, come to Sunset Point to take advantage of the 180-degree vistas and the inspired Italian menu. The tasting menu is an easy and enjoyable way to explore the Sunset Point menu; the three-meal includes tapas or a salad or fresh mozzarella followed by terrina di terracotta (oven-baked pasta) or a gourmet pizza and a dessert (there are straightforward desserts and cocktail versions). Sunset Point appetizers include a selection of mozzarella specials such as Pettole (a prosciutto roll served with arugula and cherry tomatoes) as well as other favorites like tuna tartar, meatballs with a mushroom sauce, or fried calamari. Pizzas are king here; they come straight from a wood-burning oven with a nice variety of toppings from which to choose. For something different, opt for the tuna sashimi pizza with arugula, pesto, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. There’s also a classic napoletana with mushrooms, salami, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. The mini magnum—a trio of three desserts—is perfect for those who have trouble deciding. Dessert drinks available include prosecco and port wine. Km 5.5 on the tourist corridor, Cabo San Lucas (624) 145-8160, www.sunsetmonalisa.com. Nightly 5 p.m.–10 p.m. MasterCard, Visa, and vouchers accepted. $$–$$$$ A.A.
