Like its namesake Cuban cocktail, Moxitos always hits the spot. Set on the sands of Médano Beach, the scenically situated yet surprisingly affordable eatery has breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus that primarily focus on fresh local seafood. Familiar Mexican and American favorites are also available. Popular dinner starters include excellent small-plate servings of ceviche and shrimp cocktail, and the Caesar salads—prepared tableside by the talented waitstaff—are among the very best in Los Cabos. For the main course, it’s hard to top the mariscada seafood platter for two, which has lobster, crab, jumbo shrimp, octopus, and the catch of the day served with rice and grilled vegetables. That’s particularly true when you pour a little melted garlic butter over your lobster tail and order a round of the signature Moxitos cocktails, prepared with either light or dark rum. Afterwards, sample strawberry-topped slices of flan and sip sweet Mexican coffees as waves lap against the shore and acoustic guitarists serenade you with romantic ballads. Live music is played ered nightly during dinner hours. Médano Beach, Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-6554, www.cabomoxitos.com. Daily 7 a.m.–10 p.m. (The bar remains open until 11 p.m.). MasterCard and Visa accepted. $–$$$ C.S.
