It takes but one visit to De Cortez Mesquite Grill to understand how the oceanfront restaurant has succeeded in earning its Five Star Diamond Award status year after year. Executive chef Manuel De Luca brings worldly experience and creativity, which is showcased in enticing items that range from his signature lamb ravioli—served with morel mushrooms and dill foam—to a frisée lettuce salad with pear, blue cheese, and truffled honey dressing; creamy lobster bisque; marinated duck cooked over mesquite embers, and any of the perfectly executed meats from the grill. De Cortez’s new menu dazzles with innovative selections, while the setting is one of the most romantic in Los Cabos. Dine elegantly inside or opt for the terrace, where giant waves crash on the beach a few feet away. Catch a spectacular sunset or a full moon while enjoying live music and a dining experience to cherish. An absolute must is the dark chocolate dome over which warm chocolate syrup is poured to open the top to aromatic spices. It’s pure heaven, especially for chocoholics. A nice wine selection complements the meal. Those interested in learning more about wine can attend the weekly wine tasting and food pairing on Thursdays.
