A message from the publisher

Two greatly anticipated area infrastructure improvements—rerouting the Transpeninsular Highway farther inland, and constructing a bridge between the new community of Puerto Los Cabos and historic San José del Cabo—recently became visibly active. Seeing the construction work reminded me that the phenomenal growth occurring now in Los Cabos is fueled by the ever–increasing number of folks arriving here for vacations who end up falling in love with our formerly quiet “end of the world.”

You see, THAT is exactly why the rest of us already here are still here: We too fell in love with Los Cabos. And why not? This beautiful land—studded with majestic mountains, surrounded by glittering seas, home to an incredibly diverse and creative population—is blessed with clean air and water, safe neighborhoods, and fun activities day and night.

In this issue, we bring you what we hope are insights into some of the reasons why almost everyone falls in love with Los Cabos. Speaking of love, we take our first look at destination weddings in Los Cabos and the growth of an entire industry in support of people in love. For another article, we spoke with some local architects for their insights into what to expect—and to avoid—if you plan to build a home here. And there is a great piece on the phenomenal growth of organic gardening in the area, one reason why the quality of the food in our restaurants (and homes) is so high.

Also, as always, depend on us for detailed and up–to–date information on what to do in Los Cabos and the best maps anywhere.
